Official Launch of Priority Livestock Aggregation at Dagapela, Dagana Dzongkhag

Bhutan Livestock Development Corporation Limited (BLDCL) formally launched the aggregation of priority meat products (Chicken, Pork and Fish) on the 7th of April, 2025 at Dagapela, Dagana Dzongkhag.

His Excellency, the Minister for Ministry of Communication and Transport graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and was joined by;

  • Namisha Sakaria, Third Secretary, from the Embassy of India as the representative of His Excellency the Ambassador to Bhutan
  • The Honorable Members of Parliament
  • The Director, Department of Agriculture Marketing and Cooperatives
  • Dasho Dzongdag, Dagana Dzongkhag
  • Chairman, BLDCL Board and the Board of Directors
  • The General Manager from Farm Machinery Cooperation Limited
  • The Thrizin, Dzongkhag Tshogdue, Dagana Dzongkhag and the Gups from Dorona, Gesarling, Gozhi, Tashiding, Khebisa, Karmaling, Lhamoizingkha, Tseza, Tsangkha, Lajab and the Officials from the Gewog Administration
  • The Representatives from Regional Offices under Dagana Dzongkhag
  • The Dzongkhag Livestock Officer and the Livestock Extension Supervisors under Dagana Dzongkhag
  • Our Business partner, the Members of Daga Cooperative and non-registered piggery farmers from the locality

This Momentous event was funded by the Government of India, under the Economic Stimulus Program of the 13th Five Year Plan. The objective of meat aggregation is to provide ready market support for the priority meat producers, boost local meat production and promote local food consumption through the Price Guarantee Scheme (PGS

During the event, BLDCL collected 2.12 MT of Pork from Daga Cooperative and also signed a one year agreement with them at an agreed rate of Nu.470/Kg. A cheque amounting to Nu. 1.27 million was also handed over to the Chairperson of Daga Cooperative for the meat aggregated on that day.

NB: The event was carried out modestly considering the social, cultural, and religious standpoint without signboards, Banners and media coverage.
