Bhutan Livestock Development Corporation Limited (BLDCL) is a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) and was established to work closely with the Department of Livestock (DOL) towards the development of the livestock sector in the country. BLDCL is basically a commercial arm of the Government in enhancing the production and marketing of the country’s livestock inputs and products to achieve Food Security.

BLDCL is mandated to increase the internal production of livestock inputs and products to help achieve food and nutrition security of the country, reduce imports, and most importantly, to retain outflow of foreign reserves. For this, BLDCL has concentrated on enhancing the production from her own farms and also encourage the farmers to enhance production, providing an assured market with a deserving price through aggregation, and serving a variety of products to customers through value addition, and channel the products for easy accessibility through a chain of marketing facilitations.

BLDCL, being a commercial entity, the company is also expected to be financially sustainable and meet its financial requirements through the operation of its businesses.

During the year, BLDCL has navigated through a dynamic economic landscape, leveraging our expertise and innovative spirit to deliver financial performance. Our strategies and initiatives have not only fortified our position in the market but also enhanced our capability to reach the grassroots level (Farmers).

These values have guided us through every decision and action, ensuring that we uphold the trust and confidence bestowed upon us by the stakeholders.
